“The Best of 123Soho 2006Art Show"
Curator: Carol Heft
Carol Heft began studying painting with American master Robert Brackman, when she was twelve years old. She received her undergraduate degree from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1976. In her early years in New York City , Carol had a number of solo exhibitions including Gallery 120, the Pene Dubois Gallery, and Ten Worlds Gallery. More recently, her work has been shown at the Washington Art Association, Washington Depot, CT., The Dubois Gallery at Lehigh University , The Fairleigh Dickenson University College Gallery, and the Blue Mountain Gallery in New York . Her work has been included in many juried shows in Europe , South America , and around the United States .
Carol teaches drawing, painting, and art history in New York City and in the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania . She is a teaching artist and mentor with arts in education programs in New York City , working directly with teachers and students in public schools. Ms. Heft also has a background working with individuals with disabilities and particular interest in developing special-education art programs. CURRICULUM VITAE
Thomai Kontou learned sketching from 1971 to 1978 in Athens, in the Vrassida Vlahopoulos and Theodoros Drossos ateliers. She was taught painting by Yannis Tsarouhis, while she learned the Fresco Technique by Dimitris Kostopoulos.
She is continuously present in the Artistic area since 1973 with 20 individual exhibitions and has taken part in 81 group shows in Greece and abroad. She participated in 6 BIENNALES: 1996 in Belgrade, 1998 in Mexico, 1999 and 2001 in Pisa – Italy and in 2002 and 2004 in Poland. Iwona Jankowski
