'SARS' artwork series brought by 123soho
Featured Artist, Chin Chih Yang.
SARS, known as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, is one of
the killer viruses disseminating around the world since its
first emerged in Southern China, in November 2002. China attempted
to cover up the outbreak but the severity of the epidemic
pushed Chinese officials finally to present a report on the
illness to the WHO in late April 2003.
The the current issue, SARS, inspirits the
artwork. The creation of the artwork satirizes the communist
covering up the fact from the world at the beginning. Due
to the hidden fact, the influence of SARS has brought the
world fear, illness, and death. Certainly, our painfulness
would have been less if the communist had chosen to speak-up
at the first time.
