The images of Gintautas Velykis, a painter, digital artist and musicant from Kaunas, Lithuania, can be said to represent a process of evolution.
"I very rarely start out with any idea of where I'm going", he says. "For me, it's generally a random creative process of having fun with the tools and following my whims."
------------------------------------
Gintautas trademark seems to be his use of colored lights. Frequently with the mixsed snail, spiral, ring - shaped objects, he will create transparent models and light them from the inside.
The beauty of the illumination in the Cages imagery is that things can to convolve, intersect, divide extremely, to share one's experience with others forms and overlap in ways that can't be in reality. What is his earlier figural images only added dynamism and a dramatic quality to his scenes, the effect of which may be his lack of a sense of life stability and could lead to half existentialist attitudes, has now transformed into a force active within the matter and spreading splinters of the world over the meander surface of the colorful plans.
