Julianne Raymond
Background
J ulianne Raymond attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a focus in ceramics. She holds a BA in Psychology and after working in the field of Social Work for 4 years, while studying painting, she made a decision to leave the field and vigorously pursue a high production of abstract oil on canvas. Currently she works and sells from her studio in Chicago and exhibits at various shows and festivals nationwide.

Artist's Statement
M y work in abstraction began as an
emotional outlet from a trying career in
social work. I discovered that through
color, movement, and texture I could
channel my emotions through the paint
and onto the canvas. Each original
piece, although personal in nature,
depicts feelings that move people in
different manners. Being raised by an
architect and an interior designer, a
component of design creeps into my
work from time to time, and combines
the emotional elements with a logical
factor.
