G
reg Orduyan (Grigoriy Nikolayevich Orduyan) was born into a hereditary artist family
on April 3rd 1971 in the city of Moscow. However, his family originates from the North Caucasus area of Eurasian continent. According to a legend, the family founder was one of the rulers of ancient “Urartu Empire." Greg’s Father, Grandfather and
Great-Grandfather are well known artists, respected and loved by many.
Starting making art at the age of 3, Greg began his formal art education at the age of 7, after being accepted into “Moscow Art School”. Although as an “Art School” pupil, Greg was one of the best and his work was awarded by Jurors of many competitions at home and abroad he was never anything like a “child prodigy” (one of those robbed of childhood types). From a disobedient free spirited child Greg grew up into a rebellious teen with an adventurous soul.
After 10 years of “Art School” in 1988 Greg received the diploma of the Fine Artist. Several years to follow were busy with participation in art shows, chasing pretty girls and causing turmoil and chaos everywhere. In 1989 Greg started work at “Central All Union TV” and at the same time entered “TV Animation Institute”. In 1991 Greg became an Animator. While at “Animation Institute” and after graduation Greg participated in the creation of 4 (15 min long) animation films produced by “Union-Telefilm” studios. Films have been awarded several prizes from participation in animation festivals of Russia and Europe.
Despite a flourishing career as a Artist and Animator in November of 1991 Greg acted out on a long dream and left for America. In the US Grigoriy has continued showing his work in several galleries all over NYC while continuing to work as an Animator and shortly after a Computer Graphic Artist. During the winter of 1995 Greg was invited to work in one of the most well known Video Game Development companies in the world, “Konami” as a Lead Artist.
In time he was promoted to Art Director and then to a Creative Director position. While at “Konami” he took part in the creation of many Hit Video games to name few “BO9” and “Castelvania”. In May 2001 Greg started working for “SONY” in the Art Director
role. During all this time he continued to show his work in SOHO NY and expanded to galleries of the “Bay area”. In 2002 Greg was granted permanent residency in US on the ground of his extraordinary accomplishments in Art.
Currently Greg Orduyan lives and works in Silicon Valley's city of Belmont ramping up for a new show.

I love your work Greg. Your paintings are fierce. They have great color harmony and are so architectural. Best wishes and hope you keep painting!

It is great that you are sharing your talent with children in the S.F. Bay Area. My 2nd grade students enjoyed learning art, music, and digital art from you, Yelena, and your staff at Digital Monkey on our recent fieldtrip. I hope to bring students each year!
