Brief statement: A wrap jacket/coat which is a take off of the Japanese Kimono. I individualized the design by adding two small box pleats on each sleeve. The coat isresist dyed via the Japanese "Shibori"techniques of folding and clamping andpole wrapping. Stipple quilting covers the surface of the entire coat. Couched metal licbraided threads and a machine embroideredshell design also add texture and interest to the surface. The fabric for the coat is cottonand it's lined with an indigo color edacetate. Glass button and clasp closure.
