Mr. Hou Chi-liang was born in
1958 in Chia-yi, Taiwan. He graduated from the Food sicence Department of the National
Chung Hsing University,and is now the editor of literature page of the United Daily News.
He had won China Times Literature Award for three times, the Literature and Art Award
given by the Armed Forces, and Calligraphy Award in Blue Sky Exhibition held by the Air
Force.
Mr. Hou is good at writing the real life with delicate and exquisite words and seeking out
the meaning of it, for that reason he is called "City Poet" and his writing
skills and topics are always followed by the other young writers.
Mr. Hou Chi-liang has received calligraphy training for many years and is well-versed in
seal cutting. He was instructed by the master of Chinese painting, Mr. Chiang Chao-shen
and is one of those young writers who have capacity and disposition on both modern and
classical art . Mr. Hou understands Chinese and western literature very well , therefore
can master his language and create his own style of sHouwing the modern Chinese spirit in

calligraphy-Mr. Ho has received calligraphy training
since1975 and was one of the students of Mr.Tai Chin-nung. Chinese painting- Mr. Ho was
instructed by Chiang Chao-shen since 1991. seal cutting - Mr. Ho learned seal cutting from
1979, and his works are welcomed and collected by many people. Mr. Ho Chi-liang adopted
the style of Chiang Chao-shen on calligraphy, Chinese painting, and seal cutting. Not only
his books but also his painting and calligraphy contain the special disposition of calm
and elegant of a poet.
