"My abstract imagery emerges and evolves from the interplay of specific pictorial elements (form, colour, texture, etc.); it can be said this is my subject matter. But the actual placement and repetition of the signs over the surface of the canvas with no pre-eminence or meaning other than that of being there, or not, is one of the main analogies between my paintings and existence."

The first photo collage Mark Plaisek made came form a photograph he had thrown away. Hours after giving up on the photo, he emptied his darkroom trash can, saw the image in the wastebasket, and thought, I could do something with this.

Charles W. Partrick was bron in  Indianapolis, Ind.  He was a Conceptual Artist and Lecturer.  In 1979, the National  Endowment for the Arts Special Project, his Performances with Color Poems was granted.

Painting has become more than an expression of myself, the illustration of ideas, or simply an arrangement of form. It is an amalgam of all these concerns and an ongoing process of discovery and evolution that demands the union of intuition and intellect. Working in this manner, I am able to draw upon the visible world for inspiration, as well as the personal, symbolic, and abstract one within to form a transcription of inner and outer awareness.

Nadia Pronina was born in Kiev, Ukraine, in 1956.  Nadia is the Soros Fund Art Grant winner of 2000 year in Moldova.

Taking her inspiration from Andy Warhol, Sherri Page paints mostly in acrylics in the Pop Art style. Following the murder of a favourite uncle, Page began a lifelong fascination with crime and has incorporated it into her work.
