The 1st year of the reign of Han Ping-it coincidentally falls on the year A.D. 1, and also marks the center point of the Han Dynasty (206 B.C. - A.D. 220).   The Han is widely regarded as a golden age in Chinese history that saw great achievements in both civil administration and military affairs.  The present   exhibition brings together archeological discoveries on loan from mainland China, as well as objects from the National  Palace Museum's own collection.

The display from the Museum's collection includes Han  dynasty bronze mirrors, bronze seals, jade pi discs, cocoon shaped vessels, and other treasures altogether numbering 250 items.  By presenting these diverse cultural  treasures, the Museum hopes to offer visitors insight into the culture of the Han dynasty.
