David Coleman is an eighteen-year-old senior in his last year of high school.  His art teacher asked him if he would be interested in taking part in the "Jesus 2000" contest knowing that he believed in Jesus Christ.  He attended Saint Charles Borromeo School from kindergarten through eighth grade, and was raised in a strong Catholic family.  Of his art work he wrote: "The Bible talks about the earth being the devil's playground.  This picture shows a skull in the earth, which represents the devil and his evil work on the earth.   The man in the picture is Jesus watching over the earth, showing us that he is still here waiting to come back to the earth to see us from the devil."  Mr. Coleman also said, "I was totally surprised when my art teacher, Mrs. Paula Flora, told me in class that I was in the finals.  I was very surprised.  I never thought I was very good at art even though my parents have all my art work framed and displayed around our home.  A lot of people have told me I have talent.  I still don't think I do, but am grateful for this opportunity to display my work."
