![]() Like many artists in the early stage of their career, Mr. Rodriques could not survive solely on his painting. He worked for publicity and advertising agencies, even on television. Finally, in 1997, he decided to abandon those activities in order to dedicate himself totally to his art of painting. Mr. Rodriques said of his own work: "I'm very eclectic, always trying new things. Everything leads me to further exploration." Another of Mr. Rodriques' trade marks is the speed in which he paints. He finishes an average of 150 paintings a month because his works are in great demand. "The Light of Conscience" was painted in an anguished moment of hi life. "I was passing though a hard time in my life, and questioning about my own artistic career." The selection of the painting by the "Jesus 2000" contest brought him the attention of many international art critics. He is greatly encouraged to keep up his good work, scheduling future exhibitions, and continuing to use his power in what he likes best: painting. |
