In 1996, Ms. Morton won a scholarship and internship in a contest provided by Game Works and The World Studio Foundation in New York.  She was one of eight students in the country to receive an all-expenses paid internship with Universal Studios in California.  During her stay in California, Ms. Morton worked with animators and designers, developing characters for an upcoming attraction at Universal Studios Florida.

Currently, Ms. Morton is working on her degree project and professional illustration portfolio, preparing for graduation in May of 2000.

Sara Morton is an illustration student attending Massachusetts College of Art in Boston.   Painting and digital collage are the media she uses to reveal her spirit and define stories.  Her inventive, computer-based work can stand alone or become the basis for composing large acrylic paintings.  Ms. Morton's illustrations are about the visual drama of experience.  They embody intricate and compartmentalized imagery with color that is both intense and narrative.

Ms. Morton's training in art began at an early age.   Her fathers, James Morton, a painter, helped hr with many early projects involving paintings, drawing and sculpture.  Her mother, Paula Morton, a kindergarten teacher, also enriched and encouraged her n her art.  In her senior year of high school, Ms. Morton won a number of regional and national scholastic art awards.  Her mixed-media sculpture "Shim" was featured on the cover of Scholastic Scope magazine in 1996.   She also received the highs score possible for her portfolio in Advanced Placement Art.  Ms, Morton enrolled in several classes at Massachusetts College of Art while attending high school to prepare herself for college.  As a result, she was accepted to numerous art schools, but chose to continue her studies at Massachusetts College of Art.
